EMC Gamification

Background:

Gartner Group projects that by 2015 over 70% of the Global 2000 will be using gamification, and M2 Research says they will spend over $5B annually on gamification to achieve their goals by 2018.

EMC took the leap into gamification in 2014, with the support of Trepoint.

Trepoint’s Role:

EMC contracted Trepoint to develop the technology for the program and train the staff in gamification.
•    Pilot phase cost = $90,000 (not including programming)
•    Partner = PC Connection (one of EMC’s smaller VARs)
•    Trained Sales Team grew from 8 to 68 (an 850% increase)
•    Time in market = 3 months

Results:

Due to Trepoint’s gamification project, sales delivered for EMC reached over $1,000,000 to date – for an ROI of 1,100%.  The pilot is now rolling out to 5 more offices.
