We in the business world love our acronyms…B2B, CPC, CTR, KPI, PPC, ROI…the list goes on and on. So here’s one more to add to your abbreviation word bank: TRIFC. Sure, it exceeds the traditional acronym count by 2 characters, but these 5 little letters can make a big difference in our five workdays. Here’s how I came to this declarative realization.

Scene:
Happy hour with friends after work.

Tone:
Jubilant.

Reason:
Work didn’t suck.

Being a typical path-exploring, job-hopping millennial, I have worked at three different agencies in the past 10 years. I’ve worked with small budget start-ups to billion dollar big shots, and regardless of the physical or financial climate, I have genuinely enjoyed being at work (well, most days…hello, I am human!) Similarly, most of my friends were sincerely excited about going to work and spending time working with their teammates. I stepped back and reflected on how “lucky” we all were, and then my hyper-cognitive side kicked in and began pondering the “why” behind our luck.

So many times you hear about people “dragging themselves to work” or “dreading heading into the office”, but not us. My conclusion, it’s because of our teammates who are TRIFC!
That is, Talented, Resourceful, Invested, Fun, Collaborative. Please observe:

Talented
Resourceful
Invested
Fun
Collaborative

These are the top characteristics of each of my colleagues and a clear factor in why we thrive as a team and as a business. I’d put our up against anywhere as one of the best places to work in Kansas City. So the next time you find yourself job searching, I urge you to think not just about the where but also the who – your future happiness will thank you.
